Privacy Policy

Your data, explained plainly

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Chemistra ("we", "our") collects when you use the app or website, and how we use and protect it. By using Chemistra you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

  • Account details — if you sign in, we store your email address and basic profile information.
  • Study progress — quiz scores, mistakes, drill personal bests and preferences. Most of this is stored locally on your device.
  • Usage data — pages visited and features used, to help us improve the app.
  • Technical data — device type, browser and crash diagnostics to keep the app stable.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide and personalise study tools, quizzes and progress tracking.
  • To fix bugs, improve performance and develop new features.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To send essential service communications (never spam).

4. Local storage & offline data

Much of your learning data — quiz history, Mistake Lab entries, drill records and theme preferences — is stored locally on your device so the app works offline. Clearing your browser or app data permanently removes it.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers (hosting, analytics, error reporting) strictly to operate the service, and where required by law.

6. Data retention & security

We retain account data while your account is active and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. You can also withdraw consent for optional data uses. We respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Children's privacy

Chemistra is a study tool suitable for students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or remove a child's data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and continued use of the service means you accept the updated policy.
